The opinion piece Words matter, choose them wisely at home and work (KT, Jan 24) was worthy of reflection. Giving feedback is an art that needs skilled handling lest it should leave a permanent damage. This subtle art of dealing with effective usage of words and tone is worth working at. At work it can save much unpleasantness as words break the morale and motivation of employees. Digital age needs more of such finesse while using words that matter.
A quote sums it the best: "The six most important words: I admit I made a mistake. The five most important words: You did a good job.
The four most important words: What is your opinion?
The three most important words: If you please.
The two most important words: Thank you.
The one least important word: I."
