Telecom companies shouldn't charge fee for home visits

Filed on November 26, 2019 | Last updated on November 26, 2019 at 07.10 pm

Very well done, Telecommunication Regulatory Authority for regulating the fees charged by the two telecom service providers in the UAE (TRA issues statement on Etisalat, Du service fee; KT, Nov 26). Technical glitches are really common in telecommunications. The two companies are already charging a lot for the fixed network. Charging the customers extra for visits to rectify glitches wasn't right in the first place. It should be part of a service contract. TRA should also ensure that both the operators follow the service level agreement and key performance initiatives for service activation and troubleshooting.
