Many residents of the emirate's Al Suyoh community were relocated to hotels after a raging wadi swept across their neighbourhood during the records rains last week
Question: I am working in a semi-government company in Abu Dhabi. I reside in a hotel apartment, for which I pay rent on a monthly basis. My employer has never asked for a tenancy contract and I was receiving my housing allowance in full. But now my employer wants me to submit a tenancy contract as proof of residence in Abu Dhabi. What can I do?
Pursuant to your queries, you may approach the administration department of the hotel apartment where you are residing and request them to provide you with a confirmation letter or a contract. The document must say that you are residing in the said hotel apartment on a monthly rental contract basis.

It is recommended that you request the hotel apartment to mention in the confirmation letter or the contract, the period (start date) since when you have been residing in the hotel apartment. Thereafter, you may submit this confirmation letter or contract issued by the hotel apartment to your employer along with the copy of receipts for payment of monthly rent.
