Transworld, a leading global player in shipping, supply chain, aviation and food solutions, announced the successful operation of a dedicated air charter on the Sharjah–Mumbai–Sharjah sector on March 24. The initiative ensured the seamless and uninterrupted movement of food and essential commodities between India and the United Arab Emirates during a period of heightened regional uncertainty.
With conventional freight routes facing increased operational risk and uncertainty in the Gulf, Transworld mobilised its air charter capabilities to provide a fast, reliable and dedicated solution. The Sharjah–Mumbai–Sharjah operation is a testament to Transworld’s operational agility and its ability to deliver under pressure.
Speaking on the development, Ramesh S Ramakrishnan, chairman of Transworld and Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awardee 2025, said: "In periods of uncertainty, agility and decisive action become critical. This air charter operation demonstrates our commitment to maintaining the seamless movement of essential commodities between India and the UAE."
Ritesh S Ramakrishnan, managing director of Transworld, added: "Our dedicated air charter solution was designed to provide immediate capacity and ensure food security and continuity of essential supplies to the UAE. We will continue to invest in flexible and scalable logistics solutions that address evolving market challenges."
In addition to the air charter operation, on the shipping side, Transworld also successfully deployed its vessel, SSL Godavari, to support critical India–UAE trade flows of essential commodities.
