Subsidiary Final win at Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club underscores the team’s growing consistency on the UAE polo circuit

RGF Polo Team further strengthened its position on the UAE polo circuit with a 7.5–5 victory over Jehanghiri Polo Team in the Subsidiary Final of the AHPC Festive League 2025, held at Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club on 20 December.
The win marks the team’s second championship triumph in final-stage competition this season, reinforcing the growing consistency of the side led by Romain Gerardin-Fresse and its ability to perform under pressure across major tournaments.
From the opening chukker, RGF imposed a controlled and disciplined tempo. A defining moment of the match came when Gerardin-Fresse converted a decisive penalty, a high-pressure strike that proved pivotal in maintaining the team’s advantage at a critical juncture of the contest.
Juan Cruz Guevara delivered an outstanding performance, combining sharp anticipation with intelligent positioning and sustained attacking pressure that repeatedly unsettled the opposition. His influence was central to RGF’s forward momentum throughout the match.
Defensive solidity and balance were reinforced by Ayden Al Ahmad Ketmawi and Ale Gowland, both more commonly seen competing under the colours of Equiti Polo Team. Their experience was particularly evident during defensive phases and transitional play, helping RGF manage key moments effectively.
Jehanghiri Polo Team remained competitive throughout, applying pressure across several chukkers and keeping the contest finely poised. While the half-goal handicap influenced the final scoreline, RGF’s control of possession, composure in managing tempo, and clinical execution in decisive moments ultimately proved the difference.
With two championship victories now secured in final-phase competitions this season, RGF Polo Team continues to establish itself as a serious contender on the UAE polo scene. As the AHPC calendar progresses, the team’s trajectory points toward further competitive ambitions and sustained success at the highest levels of regional polo.
