Luxury brands like Armani, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, etc. are not out of reach for fashion enthusiasts from low or mid-level incomes. The Fashionista application, developed by UAE university students, allows people to find stores of luxury fashion brands and rent their favourite dress or accessory. With a mere security deposit, they can take luxury brands for rent at a cheap tariff on a per-day basis.
The rental clothing concept was often for tuxedoes or expensive dresses for special occasions, but luxury brands had never been into this type of deal with customers. Thus the Fashionista application can be a booming concept which allows people to rent dresses from various luxury stores and get them delivered to their doorstep. The pickup of the dress or accessories will also be done by dedicated representatives. There will be proper terms and conditions for every renting occasion.
The marketing head expressed, "We are trying to keep tariffs at a minimum, and we are also planning extensive discounts for our first batch of users." The application will have loyalty programmes for members in the future, which are yet to be disclosed.
The young entrepreneurs who designed the application are students from renowned universities in the UAE. They have come together with this idea as a group and have arranged investments and sponsorships from luxury brand stores in exchange for expanding their customer base.
