FP Trading obtains CMA licence, establishes onshore footing in the UAE

The Category 5 authorisation allows FP Trading to market services and introduce clients in the UAE through a locally licensed presence

FP Trading, an international forex and CFD brokerage, has been granted a new licence by the UAE's Capital Market Authority (CMA), formerly the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), giving the firm an onshore regulatory footing in the country. The Category 5 authorisation covers marketing, promotional, and client introduction activity within the UAE.
According to FP Trading, the licence forms part of a broader effort to widen its regulatory base across the Middle East. Rather than approaching the market from abroad, the company will now market its services and introduce clients to its regulated brokerage entities through a locally licensed presence, while trade execution and custody of funds continue to sit with its existing regulated operations elsewhere.
FP Trading pointed to the UAE's growth as a financial centre as a key driver behind the move, noting that the market has drawn increasing numbers of brokers and financial firms looking to build a genuine local presence rather than operate purely cross-border. The company said holding a CMA licence gives it a more direct route to promote its services to the region's trading community under local regulatory oversight.
The firm added that the licence complements its existing regulatory approvals in other jurisdictions and is intended to give clients a consistent level of protection and oversight no matter where they are based. On the partner side, FP Trading said an onshore presence in the UAE should mean quicker turnaround times and closer, more localised support for its network of introducing brokers and affiliates.
Narayan Joshi, general manager of FP Trading, said: "Having this licence in place lets us work far more closely with our clients and partners in the UAE. It's a long-term commitment to the region, not a short-term move, and it fits into how we're building out our regulatory presence more broadly."
FP Trading said the UAE licence is one part of an ongoing push to add regulatory coverage in additional markets, describing the country as an increasingly central piece of its regional strategy going forward.
