Discover Russia has announced the launch of a dedicated “Muslim-Friendly” national tourism system designed to meet the cultural, culinary, and hospitality expectations of visitors from the Gulf countries. The introduction of the framework was presented during the participation of Russian delegations at Qatar Travel Mart 2025, where the national tourism brand showcased a range of winter routes and regional offerings adapted for Middle Eastern travellers.

The system brings together a coordinated approach to halal standards, prayer-friendly facilities, and service protocols across participating regions. It also outlines new routes and hospitality options developed for families, cultural travellers, and visitors seeking winter experiences in destinations across Russia.

Destinations featured within the new framework include Moscow, Tatarstan, the North Caucasus, Sochi, Stavropol, Crimea, and Siberia. Each region has focused on aligning its tourism products with the needs of Muslim travellers, incorporating halal-certified dining, culturally familiar hospitality practices, and activities suited for families. The introduction of the system follows rising interest among Gulf travellers in winter experiences and heritage-focused itineraries that offer both comfort and cultural compatibility.

Tatarstan, Dagestan, and the Chechen Republic have placed particular emphasis on Islamic heritage, architectural landmarks, and local cuisine mindful of dietary requirements. Major urban centres such as Moscow and Kazan are integrating prayer facilities and halal dining options in hotels and public areas, while winter destinations like Sochi and the Caucasus region are introducing tailored trip packages that combine outdoor activities with accessible services.

Supporting this effort is the launch of the Arabic version of the winter tourism platform, enabling Gulf visitors to explore routes, book accommodations, and review travel logistics. The resource brings together information on winter activities, cultural sites, and regional experiences that reflect the diversity of Russia’s landscapes, from Siberian nature routes to historic cities and mountain regions.

Speaking about the launch, the CEO of Discover Russia said: “The development of the Muslim-Friendly system reflects a broader effort to understand the expectations of visitors from the Gulf and to provide clear, reliable information that helps them plan their travel with confidence.”

The initiative aims to strengthen tourism ties with the Gulf region, offering structured and accessible pathways for travellers to explore Russia during the winter season with clarity, comfort, and cultural alignment.
