Celebrating global health and wellness excellence at the Forttuna Global Excellence Awards 2024

The Forttuna  Global Excellence Awards 2024, held on December 6-7 aboard the iconic Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise in Dubai, recognsed exceptional leadership and innovation in health and wellness. Organised by Aditii Handa and Raul Handa, the awards gathered distinguished leaders from over 40 countries to honour individuals and organisations at the forefront of advancing healthcare globally. The event celebrated achievements across a variety of sectors, including skincare, cataract surgery, cardiac care, osteopathy, wellness technology, and more.

One of the standout recipients of the evening was MOSAIK from Japan, which won the Emerging Skincare Product of the Year award. MOSAIK’s holistic approach to skincare, which combines vegan, bioactive, and phytoactive ingredients tailored to a wide range of skin types, was celebrated for its innovation and commitment to creating effective, personalised skincare solutions.

Dr William Lee of ICARES Medicus, was honoured with the President of the Year award. Dr Lee’s pioneering work in cataract surgery, particularly the development of LubriMATRIX™ technology, has significantly improved patient outcomes. His Balanced Extended Vision Procedure (BEVPx) has set new standards in eye care, advancing safer and more effective vision correction.

Dr Niraj Gupta, a renowned interventional cardiologist from India, received the Cardiologist of the Year award for his groundbreaking contributions to cardiac care. Having performed over 25,000 complex procedures, including high-risk angioplasties and structural heart interventions, Dr Gupta has made significant strides in improving patient outcomes in India and the UAE.

The awards also recognised Dr Frederic Roscop, a London-based osteopath and founder of Aequil, as the Osteopath of the Year and Well-being Start-up of the Year. With over 25 years of experience, Dr Roscop was celebrated for his integrative approach to health and wellness, particularly through his brand Aequil, which combines quantum biology with wellness products designed to enhance clarity, vitality, and awareness.

Dani Afiouni, founder of the Longevity Wellness Hub in the UAE, received the titles of Marketing Company of the Year (Health) and Emerging Business Leader of the Year. His innovative wellness hub, which offers advanced services such as Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and the region’s first mobile ice bath unit, has earned recognition for its holistic approach to health and its partnerships with top UAE brands.

Lastly, Dr Rajesh Kesavan, founder of the Dr RK Diabetic Foot and Podiatry Institute in India, was named Podiatrist of the Year. His pioneering work in diabetic foot care and amputation prevention through advanced treatments like Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and Cold Plasma Therapy is helping patients maintain mobility and prevent amputations.
