The UAE on Monday launched the ‘Summer Hospitality Camp 2025’ to nurture young talent and prepare students for the job market.
Launched by the Ministry of Economy, in collaboration with its 35 hotel and tourism establishment partners across the UAE, the programme is open to high school and university students aged 15 to 22.
This includes university students in hospitality, tourism, or related fields, as well as friends and students interested in tourism, events, culinary arts, and hotel operations.
The initiative – which is open to UAE nationals and UAE-based students – will provide hands-on internship and job shadowing opportunities, mentorship from industry leaders, guest lectures by hospitality executives, career coaching, and personal development.

Interested candidates can register through the Ministry of Economy’s website till the end of June 2025, and the participants will receive accredited participation certificates.
Speaking during the launch of the Campa, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council, said youth are the UAE’s “greatest assets”, therefore it is important to nurture the next generation not just to train or offer jobs, but shaping the future leaders in hospitality, entrepreneurs and the ambassador of the country.
He added that the UAE’s tourism sector continues its upward trajectory as the country saw over 30 million hotel guests in 2024, boosting hotel revenues of the private sector entities and the country's reputation as a very welcoming destination.
“Behind every number, there is a receptionist who smiles with pride, a chef who puts artistry on a plate and a guest relation officer who resolves a problem with grace. The sector is powered by people, and we want our people, our youth, to take the lead. This is where the UAE hospitality summer camp plays a transformative role,” the minister said.
He added that the ‘Summer Hospitality Camp 2025’ “answers a long-standing challenge of the gap between education and employment.”
“Too often, students graduate with degrees but without experience. This camp flips the charts by offering hands-on training, internships, mentorship and real exposure to the hospitality ecosystem. We are preparing students for success before they even enter the job market,” he said during the speech.
Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais, Secretary-General elect of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation for the 2026–2029 and Ayesha Abdulrab AlAfeefi, director of the Tourism Development Department at the Ministry of Economy, also addressed the press conference on Monday.
Shaikha Nasser also stressed building national capacity in the UAE’s tourism sector.
