Formula One rivalry makes races riveting. A young one is brewing between Toro Rosso's Pierre Gasly and McLaren's Carlos Sainz. The chaotic finish at the Brazilian Grand Prix made things more interesting.

Both Gasly and Sainz made it to their maiden podiums in Brazil, and now remain on 95 points each ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

While Sainz joined McLaren this season, Gasly left Red Bull for Toro Rosso.

They have crossed paths in the past and now the stage is set at the Yas Marina Circuit for yet another showdown.

And Gasly is up for the challenge in Abu Dhabi.

"It's not the first time that we are battling each other. This is really exciting coming in to the last race of the season with something to play in the championship. I am looking forward to the battle. Carlos and McLaren have been fast and consistent all year long. We expect it to be tough. It will be our job to execute the perfect weekend and hold onto the sixth place until the end," Gasly said during a press conference at the Yas Marina Circuit.

Sainz, meanwhile, is confident about finishing the season on a high note.

"I think we're as confident as we can be but at the same time you're obviously cautious, you can never know what's going to happen in the last race," he said.

"I already consider it a bit of a success, to be fighting for P6. It's a bit of a bonus because you never expect to be fighting for P6 in the midfield. Maybe you expect to be fighting for P7. And now that we have the chance and we've created ourselves an opportunity, we want to take it. I'm not sure it's going to be easy. Pierre and Toro Rosso have been really strong. They've executed some really nice races and I'm sure we're going to have some fun and some tough competition."

Adding to the mix, Red Bull's Alex Albon is 11 away from them at 84 points. It's a three-way battle for sixth spot in Abu Dhabi.
