The past few months have been tough for every single cricketer and it will get even more challenging with the players playing their favourite sport in a 'new normal.' And Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane reckoned that being in a positive frame of mind and not thinking too far ahead will hold them in good stead during the IPL.
The Delhi Capitals are all set to embark for this season's IPL campaign in the UAE and Rahane, who joined them from Rajasthan Royals, said that the downtime during the Covid-19 lockdown has helped him refresh and recharge.
"There is no doubt that it will be a challenging trip for everyone involved," Rahane said at the team's hotel in Mumbai, ahead of their departure.

"But like everyone else, I've spent these last few months focusing on my physical and mental health, and taking care of my family. So, the time I've managed to spend with them has put me in a positive frame of mind. However, this IPL will be a very different experience for all of us, and we need to make sure that we are all very positive when we hit the ground running. The key is to take one step at a time," he added.
The 32-year-old as well as the rest of the squad and support staff assembled in Mumbai on Thursday. The team is led by Shreyas Iyer.
Meanwhile, Rahane's teammate and exciting opening batsman Prithvi Shaw said that the lockdown over the past few months has helped him to deal with the present circumstances.
"We have spent the past 4-5 months dealing with this pandemic, so everyone is aware of all the do's and don'ts. We all have been preparing mentally to live and play under such circumstances, and taking all necessary precautions for our safety and well-being," said Shaw.
