It was not the most ideal of conditions but Kings XI Punjab captain KL Rahul was grateful that he and his team could get a run out in the middle.
Kings XI Punjab became the first of the eight franchises to step on the field following the mandatory quarantine when they took part in their maiden training session.

The squad trained at the ICC Cricket Academy in Dubai Sports City on Wednesday evening. Hot and humid conditions greeted the squad as they began with a team talk. They stretched out and did some exercises before hitting the nets.
The desert heat and humidity is not what they are accustomed to but it is something that the squad will get used to as the days go by, and with each and every training session.
"Having been at home for so long, just getting a chance to be out in the middle, with the team and just to get a hit feels very, very good," Rahul said after the training session.
The Karnataka batsman, who was bought by the franchise for Rs.11 crore ahead of the 2018 season, was appointed captain last December. He took over from R Ashwin, who was traded to the Delhi Capitals.
The 28-year-old said that he would have liked to have batted in much cooler climes but said he was delighted to be back on the field after months spent in lockdown and without cricket.
"Conditions are really, really hot. Ideally, I would have loved to bat in temperature much cooler but be happy that we can be outdoors and practice and do what we love," said Rahul, who joined Kings XI Punjab from the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Kings XI were the second team to arrive in the UAE after the Rajasthan Royals, on Thursday.
This season's IPL will be played in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah from September 19 to November 10.
