A mother in Melbourne, Australia, was terrified to spot a deadly brown snake in her four-month-old daughter's cot.
Aleisha Mitchley from Gold Coast said that her daughter, Sophie, had been sleeping in the bedroom of their home just an hour before she discovered the snake. Fortunately, the little girl was not in her cot when the snake crawled up in it.
Mitchley said that the snake was around one-metre in length and was first spotted at the bedroom door. "It was up around the bassinet, in her cot, it was all over," the mother of two was quoted as saying in 9news.com.
Narrating the tensed atmosphere, Mitchley said, "It was petrifying, I was very scared, I didn't know what to do. I was trying to reach for my phone and stop my son from trying to go see the snake."
The Gold Coast snake catcher, Tony Harrison conveyed that it is during the mating season that the snakes travel out in the open, across roads an in people's backyards.
