In a bizarre incident, a woman got bitten by a furious dog owner after she defended herself from the rogue canine. The dog's owner, 19-year-old Alma Cadwalader from California, got into a fight with the woman and later her bit her in a fit of rage.
According to reports in NDTV, the woman was jogging at Oakland's Anthony Chabot Regional Park on Thursday morning when Cadwalader's dog attacked her. She tried to defend herself with a pepper spray which infuriated Cadwalader who then attacked the woman. "A female jogger defended herself against a dog attack with pepper spray. Later, she was accosted by the dog's owner. A physical altercation ensued, where the victim was bitten by the suspect, causing significant injury," East Bay Regional Park District Police Department said in a statement.

Cadwalader was booked at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on Friday and faces charges of battery, false imprisonment, and robbery, according to USA Today reports. "It was pretty obvious it was not canine bites but rather human teeth. In addition to the bite, there was punching, kicking. This dog owner stopped her in her tracks on the trail," police Lt. David Phulps said to NBC News.
East Bay Regional Park District Police Department shared the incident on their official Facebook account which garnered shocked comments. One Facebook user wrote: 'Very bizarre', while another wrote: 'The person that bit the other person assaulted them. Pure and simple. There's no excuse for that'.
