It was a miraculous escape for a pilot and his passenger when their small plane crashed and got entangled in ski lift cables in the Italian Alps. Dramatic pictures of the plane crash in Prato Valentino ski resort show the aircraft dangling upside down from the ski lift cables.

According to Fox News, the 62-year-old pilot was thrown from the plane and was pictured sitting on its wing following the crash. The pilot is being treated for minor injuries and the only passenger onboard, 55-year-old Italian tourist, escaped unhurt. The pictures were released by Corpo Nazionale Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico (CNSAS), the national cave and mountain rescue unit of Italy.
"They really were very, very lucky. It was a miraculous escape. The plane crashed into the cables but fortunately it became stuck rather than crashing to the ground," Walter Milan, a spokesman for the CNSAS was quoted in Daily Mail. It took 90 minutes 20 army personnel, firefighters and cave and mountain rescuers to bring down the pilot and his passenger safely.
"The rescue operation was very tricky. The rescuers had to very carefully manoeuvre along the cables very, very slowly. We didn't want the cables moving any more than necessary," Milan added.
