It was chaos on a busy New Jersey highway as people stopped to pick up $100 bills that flew out of the back of an armoured truck. Police said the incident led to at least two crashes when cash management company Brink's truck's rear doors came open and motorists stopped on the highway to make away with the money.

Video of the incident on Thursday shows Route 3 West, near Route 17 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, strewn with $100 bills at about 8:30 am and several vehicles jamming the highway, according to UPI. The video starts with a person bending down on the middle of the highway and putting the money in a white bag while blaring horns can be heard in the background.
East Rutherford Police confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident and added that an audit was being conducted to determine how much money was lost.
Investigators asked people who were present at the spot who managed to film the incident to come forward. They have also urged people who picked up cash from the scene to return the money. "It's theft of mislaid property. So we're not looking to charge anybody, we're just looking to get the money back to Brinks," East Rutherford police detective lieutenant, Mike Gianscaspro, told WABC-TV.
