Two toddler brothers miraculously survived two days in wilderness after a horrific car crash killed their mother inCamden, Arkansas. Kylen Holliman, 3, and his one-year-old brother survived without food and water in the ravines until Kylen was spotted wandering along a busy motorway on Monday.
Although the cause of the accident is yet not known, the boys' mother Lisa Holliman, 25, had been ejected from the vehicle after it went down a deep ravine but she succumbed to her injuries. Police from the Ouachita County Sheriff's Office were after Kylen crawled out of the car wreck through the sunroof and climbed up a hill covered in bushes to find help. Police posted a photo of Kylen on their Facebook page in a bid to trace his family who revealed they had not seen the boys' mother or the children in days.
When the officers went back to the spot where Kylen was picked up, they found the wreckage of a car at the bottom of a deep ravine, not visible from the road. Inside they found Kylen's one-year-old brother awake and alert and fastened in his car seat. Lisa's father, James Holliman, told Fox16 that she took her kids everywhere she went and called Kylen a 'hero', according to Mirror.uk.
James said, "It was hard to see my grandson, you know, laying there like that... all cut up. When he climbed out of that car, seeing his mother dead like that like she was, he tried to wake his mom up."
Ouachita County Sheriff's Detective Lt Nathan Greeley said when they found the one-year-old in the wreckage he was turned sideways, in a position upside down and it was clear both boys had been through 'pure hell'. According to reports, the one-year-old is recovering at Arkansas Children's Hospital and is expected to survive, while, it was later discovered from hospital staff that Lisa was four weeks pregnant.
