Hot weather has been blamed for melting roads and damaging cars in Australia. Motorists are abandoning their vehicles after their tyres were covered in tar.
"Big globs of tar came off the road amid hot weather," said local resident Deborah Stacey to BBC.
The melting roads have caused damage to the tyres of at least 50 vehicles and they had to be replaced.
Motorists may be entitled to a compensation in Queensland, the Department of Transport and Main Roads said.
