Strong winds ripping off the roof of a building in China seemed like a movie scene with impeccable special effects. However, this real life event occurred in the city of Dezhou, located in northwestern Shandong province in China. The video footage recorded by stunned onlookers shows the roof of a market slowly detaching from the building and flying off with strong winds.

The local media called it 'gale-force' and the person recording the video can be heard shouting in horror as the red roof is pulled off and falls behind the building. The video was widely circulated online after it was tweeted by People's Daily, China, reported NDTV. No one was reported to be injured in the incident.
Last month, a part of the ceiling at the entrance of a major airport in east China's Jiangsu's province collapsed and officials blamed it on extreme weather. Mobile phone footage showed metal panels falling off the roof of the departures terminal of the Nanchang Changbei Airport.

Moreover, bad weather also caused a column to break loose from a building in Shanghai last month. Surveillance footage captured the pillar falling on a bus passing below the building and breaking into two pieces. A passenger was seated inside the bus when the pillar crashed but fortunately, he was not injured.
