China street explosion video goes viral, 3 injured

The 8-year-old dropped the lit cracker through a manhole cover.

Three people have been injured in central China in an explosion after a girl dropped a lit firecracker into a septic tank during Chinese New Year celebrations.

According to the South China Morning Post, the 8-year-old girl and two of her relatives were injured after she the girl ignored a warning sign forbidding firecrackers and slipped one through a manhole cover into an underground septic tank.
 
Video of the explosion shows the street rupturing, with loose concrete blocks and debris hitting the girl, her adult sister and another female relative, 20.


 
Jiang, a relative of the three, said that the eight0year-old was initially covered in blood when he saw her, and that he did not realize there were two others involved as they were buried under the rubble.
 
Even though they sustained multiple injuries, including bone fractures, all three are being treated in the hospital and are in stable condition.
