An old man has found fame online for returning a woman's smartphone 7 months after she misplaced it on public transport.
Cha Buenconsejo was reunited with her iPhone when she received an SMS from a certain Arcel Concepcion Jr. In the message, Concepcion told her that he found her mobile while riding a bus in Quezon City, Philippines. According to ABS-CBN News, Concepcion had to buy a charger because the phone was dead when he found it.
When the phone was powered back up, it's lock screen showed the owner's contact details. Concepcion immediately texted Buenconsejo and arranged for them to meet so that he could return her smartphone.

Buenconsejo initially doubted the man because she remembered losing her phone while riding an Uber - not a public bus. She eventually believed Concepcion's messages after she realized that the only way that he was able to contact her, was through the FindMyiPhone application which displayed her contact details. Her loved ones advised her not to meet Concepcion out of fears that she may be duped.
The two eventually met and Concepcion returned the iPhone along with the charger he bought for it. After their meeting, Buenconsejo offered him a cash reward but he refused it. Instead, to recognise Concepcion's kindness she shared his photo and wrote about the whole encounter on Facebook. As of this writing, Buenconsejo's post has gained over 141,000 reactions and has been shared 45,047 times.
"Here's a picture of humanity being restored," her post said.
Before the two parted ways, Concepcion told the young woman that she should value her belongings. "It's hard to earn money nowadays so you should take care of your things - especially since your phone looks expensive."
