Pakistani universities condole deaths of former students in New Zealand mosque attacks

Dubai - Nine Pakistani were confirmed dead in the horrific terror attack.

As the world mourns the horrific terror attack on mosques in New Zealand, and as nationalities of the victims were confirmed - nine Pakistanis were confirmed dead among the 50 victims.

Condolences for the victims have been pouring from all over the world, including a Pakistani man, who died while stopping the attacker. The hero was identified as Naeem Rashid, a teacher from Abbattobad.
His 21-year-old son was also killed in the terror attack.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced a national award for his bravery as he condoled with the family of the victims.
Among the dead were also alumni of Pakistan's top universities, SZABIST (Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology) and NED University of Science and Technology.
SZABIST condoled the death of their alumnus, Dr Haroon Mahmood, while NED condoled the deaths of two alumni, Syed Jahandad Ali and Zeeshan Raza.


The management of both universities prayed for the departed souls and for the families to have the strength to bear their loss.
