Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi left netizens impressed when he stopped to pick up flowers that fell from the bouquet presented to him during his welcome ceremony at Houston airport.
Calling it a 'humble gesture', netizens were quick to observe PM Modi not ignoring the fallen flowers on the red carpet and instead bending down to pick them up.
In a video on NDTV that went viral within minutes, shows PM Modi being welcomed by Christopher Olson, Director of Trade and International Affairs, US Ambassador to India Kenneth Juster and Indian Ambassador to the US Harsh Vardhan Shringla at the Houston airport.
When he is exchanging greetings with the dignitaries, some flowers fall on the red carpet which he picks up and hands them over to one of his security personnel.
Reacting to the video on Twitter, one user wrote: 'Where PM Narendra Modi spontaneously picks up a flower or a stem, which had fallen on the ground from a bouquet presented to him, and hands it over to his security staff. Simplicity'! While another wrote: 'A part of that bouquet fallen on ground was picked up by NAMO. Such is the down to earth nature of our PM that he doesn't even cares for any protocol'.
