A six-month-old baby boy had a miraculous escape after he was flung towards the bridge for bystanders to catch in a desperate bid to save him from a sinking car.
The terrifying accident, which took place in Madhya Pradesh, was captured on CCTV and shows the car, carrying five people, losing balance and falling off a bridge into a river. The 2.12 minute-long footage shows the car trying to avoid a head-on collision with a speeding auto rickshaw coming from opposite direction which caused it to fall into the river, reported The Indian Express.
Two men emerge from the sinking car and one of them tosses the baby boy in the air for people to catch. But the child unfortunately falls into the river. That's when some local villagers who had gathered around the accident spot jumped into the water to grab the child.
All five people were rescued from the submerged car and taken to a nearby hospital.
