After sweeping victory in Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi responded to his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan's congratulatory message on Twitter.
He expressed gratitude and his desire to work for "peace and development" in South Asia.
"Thank you PM @ImranKhanPTI. I warmly express my gratitude for your good wishes. I have always given primacy to peace and development in our region," he said.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan had reached out to Narendra Modi on Twitter on Thursday evening to congratulate Modi and the BJP.
The leaders exchanges greetings on Twitter after Bharatiya Janata Party's sweeping election results.  
Imran Khan had congratulated Modi on his victory. 
"I congratulate Prime Minister Modi on the electoral victory of BJP and allies. Look forward to working with him for peace, progress, and prosperity in South Asia," Imran Khan said.
