A 22-year-old paragliding pilot died a tragic death while saving the life of a tourist after the glider suffered a mid-air accident in Kalimpong, West Bengal. While the tourist, Gaurav Choudhary, who hails from Patna, Bihar, escaped with a broken leg.    
A video shot by Choudhary captured the last moments of the hero pilot, Purushottam Timsina from Nepal, struggling to control the glider after strong winds changed its direction and took if far away from the landing site. Moments later, the glider snaps mid-air and brushes against a tree and eventually crashing onto a concrete floor, according to reports in Financial Express.
The video is now viral social media with netizens hailing the young paragliding pilot as a hero for saving the tourist's life. The 1.14 minute-video shows the pilot not wearing a helmet as the pair takes off from the Deolo Hill top. Timsina reportedly died of head injuries after the glider fell on a concrete surface of a house below. 
In a similar incident in June 2018, a tourist died in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, while paragliding in the Solang valley, while his pilot was seriously injured. In October, an Australian paraglider of Indian origin died in a crash while paragliding in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district.
