A surprise visit to a government school in India's Telangana, left the state's finance minister in shock when he discovered some of class 10 students were unable to spell their own names correctly.
Telangana finance minister, T. Harish Rao was on a visit to a government secondary high school in Sangareddy district on Saturday to interact with students.
However, he was taken aback by the unpreparedness of Class 10 students who will be appearing for their board exams, reported Deccan Chronicle.
It is reported, many students could not write their names correctly in English and Hindi and even in their mother tongue Telugu.
The minister questioned the school's headmaster over the weak progress of students and also inspected the mid-day meals.
