Priority visa, currently being offered in India by the UK, may soon be offered by other European countries.
The Schengen states are the ones looking at this option, VFS said. Currently, the UK offers priority service charging Dh90,000 in addition to the visa fees for 'super priority' category, where visa decision is delivered in a day. For Rs. 20,000, the visa decision takes less than a week in the 'priority' category.
UK visa fees are the highest for all countries in India and the priority service charge could be much lower, reported The Times of India
Zubin Karkaria, CEO of VFS Global Group told the newspaper, "UK started the super-priority service about a year back. A lot of Indian businessmen, investment bankers have to travel at very short notice to the UK. They recognized this and started the service. Some others are also looking at the same."
