At least six passengers who travelled on a Dubai-Kozhikode Air India Express flight lost valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees at Kozhikode airport, local media reports said.

On Tuesday, a video of passengers on Air India Express flight IX344 complaining about the theft went viral on social media. Malayalam media reports said six passengers registered complaints with Air India and the airport manager after they lost money, branded watches, gold jewellery and documents, including passport.

In the video, passengers said when they collected their bags after customs checking at the airport, the locks were found to be broken and valuables stolen. Some of the baggages had empty boxes of watches and jewellery. Total loss amounted to around Rs400,000, according to reports.

Air India sources were quoted by the media saying an enquiry had been initiated into the matter.
