When an ATM outlet in the Indian city of Kanpur gave out fake currency notes to account holders, the customers were left not just disappointed but were dismayed, too.
It happened when people withdrew money from an Axis Bank ATM located at the Marble Market in Kanpur, a DNA India report said. Two of the Rs500 currency notes dispensed had 'Children Bank of India' printed on them.

ANI News reported that a complaint was registered by a man who withdrew Rs10,000 from the ATM and received a fake Rs500 note.
"I came to withdraw Rs10,000. One of the notes dispensed had 'Children's Bank' printed on it. We complained to the ATM guard who noted it down in his register. We are being told that action will be taken and our notes would be changed on Monday," said Sachin, the man who withdrew cash.
The police have launched a probe into the matter and the ATM has been shut down.
"We came to know that two persons had withdrawn Rs20,000 and Rs10,000 respectively from the said ATM. They received one note each of Rs500 with Children's Bank printed on them. The ATM has been closed. An investigation is underway," Ramesh Verma, superintendent of police, South Kanpur, was quoted as saying by ANI News.
In a similar incident in February 2017 in New Delhi, an SBI ATM was reported to have given out fake Rs2,000 currency notes which had 'Children's Bank of India' written on them.
