A Sambar deer wandered into a school in Shimla, India, which led to chaos among school students. The adult deer then ran out of panic and got trapped in the school's bathroom until it was rescued by wildlife officials.
A 12-member team from the local forest department was dispatched to the Government School in Boileauganj to initiate the rescue process. The deer was tranquilised and transferred to the nearby Him Kufri Nature Park and is under observation there.
Wildlife officials said the deer will be released once the park's veterinarians have thoroughly examined it for injuries, according to reports in UPI.

Sambar is a large deer native to the Indian subcontinent, southern China, and Southeast Asia and is categorised as threatened species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). It features on the IUCN Red List since 2008.
