6-month-old injected with acid in eyes by relatives over family feud

She might lose her eyesight permanently

A six-month-old toddler is fighting for her life in Kolkata and faces the danger of losing her eyesight after her relatives injected acid into her eyes to settle scores.

Her father, Jayanta Chakraborty, is a village priest and runs his family on meagre income. He took the six-month-old baby to a local hospital, who couldn't save her eyesight.
The child was attacked early this month and the police are investigating the matter.
The father alleges that his mother is also one of the conspirators in the horrific attack. No arrests have been made so far.

"The right eye was completely damaged and the left is severely infected. She may lose it too. The infection has spread to other parts of the head. It may lead to severe complication," said Dr Bimalendu Saha, deputy superintendent at NMCH was quoted by the Hindustan Times.
