Congress chief Rahul Gandhi's life could be in danger and his security was breached on Wednesday, his party wrote in a letter to the Union home ministry.
In the letter, the party demanded a "probe and neutralise the threat". They also emphasised the fact that Rahul's father, former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, and grandmother, Indira Gandhi, were assassinated.

With the letter, the Congress enclosed a security video of Rahul Gandhi's interaction with the media. The video shows a spot of green light on his temple.
The light is pointed on the Congress chief at least on seven different occasions, the letter claims. After examining the video, various people including four security personnel have come to the conclusion that it could be from a sniper gun, the party says.

The "green light" shown in the clipping was found to be that of a mobile phone used by the AICC photographer, who was videographing the impromptu press interaction of Rahul Gandhi near the collectorate at Amethi. Director (SPG) has also informed MHA that this position was conveyed to the personal staff of Shri Rahul Gandhi, the home ministry spokesperson was quoted by NDTV.
