Imran Khan reacts as Narendra Modi closes in on election win
The BJP registered strong leads in 300 seats.
"I congratulate Prime Minister Modi on the electoral victory of BJP and allies. Look forward to working with him for peace, progress and prosperity in South Asia," Khan said.
The message comes as the Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party registered strong leads in 300 seats, compared to 53 for the Congress. The BJP-led NDA alliance stood strong with leads in 345 seats, while the UPA alliance saw leads in 83 seats.
