She has no idea how she has been handed such a huge amount.

When a single mother-of-two from Lincolnshire wrote to electricity company over her 'wrong' 600 (Dh2,800 approx) bill, she instead received another 20,000 pounds against her (Dh94,000 approx) bill.

Caroline Leitch, 55, who quit her job as nurse in 2016 to look after her two children, said she has no idea how she has been handed such a huge amount. "Paying a 20,000 pound electric bill is not going to happen - I laughed because of the shock," quoted Leitch as saying.

The struggling mother said she got in touch with SSE Electricity after she noticed her meter reading was lower than the figures quoted by the company. The mother, who lives in a council house in Branston, Lincolnshire, hoped the error would be rectified and her bill would decrease.

But when she logged into her account, she was shocked to see that her electricity bill amount was 20,348.39. "I am really struggling. I am a single parent of two children and I have no idea how I am going to pay," the mother said adding that the news is especially stressful in the run-up to Christmas.

Although Leitch has emailed the company head office, she has not received a response and is worried about the outcome.
