The UAE Embassy in France tweeted a safety warning to Emiratis there, after heavy snowfall caused major travel disruptions in the northern half of the region and in Paris. The unprecedented weather condition has caught authorities off guard.
The Embassy wrote on Twitter that UAE residents living in France should exercise caution and also gave out numbers to call for help in case of an emergency.
"We also call upon the citizens of the State to communicate in emergency situations to the following number: + 33144340200 with our wishes of safety for all," the state embassy said on its Twitter account.

France's national rail operator has been forced to reduce the speed of its high-speed TGV trains because of the snow, which reached up to 15 centimeters (6 inches) in the Paris region, and advised customers to postpone their trips.
Twenty-eight French departments, including eight in the Paris region, have been placed on orange alert over the dangerous weather conditions and ice on the roads. School buses in two regions near Paris won't operate on Wednesday.
Snow forces Eiffel Tower closure
The Eiffel Tower has been closed because of bad weather conditions amid snowfall. Visitors had to admire the snow-covered wrought iron lattice tower from the now-white fields covered near the Paris monument, clutching umbrellas as the snow continued all day on Tuesday.
