Three huge asteroids will fly dangerously close to the Earth on November 10, NASA revealed.
The biggest of the three space rocks, dubbed 2018 VR1, is predicted to measure up to 30 metres wide - as big as a blue whale.
The first asteroid, dubbed 2018 VS1, will pass our planet at around 14:03 GMT (6:03pm Dubai time) and will be 861,700 miles away from Earth during its closest approach. Scientists estimate this one to be between 13-28 metres wide, five times as tall as a giraffe, reported Mirror.
Just 16 minutes after 2018 VS1 skims past Earth, 2018 VR1 will pass by at a distance of 3.12 million miles from Earth. According to the Daily Mail, the third asteroid, 2018 VX1 estimated around 17 metres wide will pass Earth from a distance of 237,037 miles away at 18:21 GMT (10:21pm Dubai time).
Although the distance at which these asteroids will pass Earth are huge, NASA terms them as 'close approaches'. The space agency said, "As they orbit the Sun, Near-Earth Objects can occasionally approach close to Earth. Note that a 'close' passage astronomically can be very far away in human terms: millions or even tens of millions of kilometres."
To witness the celestial event, a satellite would be needed to see them fly past Earth as they are too small and too far away to be visible using amateur equipment.
