A woman who feared she had suffered a stroke has been left 'lame for life' after paramedics didn't notice her fall out of their ambulance for 25 kilometres.

, the incident happened 8 months ago in Russia, and is only now being disclosed. The victim broke her jaw, leg and hip because of the negligence, but has received no apology.
Galina Dmitriyeva, 56, rolled unconscious onto a busy road, causing other drivers and a traffic policeman to stop and attempt to revive her.
According to reports, the paramedic on the ambulance that arrived broke the rules by sitting the with the driver and leaving the woman unattended in the back. The paramedic dismissed Dmitryeva's cries for help, and when she moved herself to attempt to plead with the paramedic, she fell out onto the road.

Police initially refused to open a probe into the case, but were eventually overruled by prosecutors. The paramedic faces up to a year in jail, and a number of staff have been reprimanded.
