With no ticket to fly, a 12-year-old boy managed to slip through security at Britain's busiest London airport and board a British Airways flight to Los Angeles on July 14.
The boy was not travelling with any adults and was caught by flight cabin crew at Heathrow Airport when asked to see his boarding pass in order to direct him to his seat. Police investigation followed, causing flight delay by four hours, reported Insider.
Passengers said police with sniffer dogs arrived and asked everybody to leave the plane to carry out a second security check.
Confirming the incident, British Airways said, "He did not have a ticket or any travel documents and was an unaccompanied minor. He is not a UK national. The child is believed to have arrived at Heathrow as a transit passenger. We have apologised to our customers for the delay."
Heathrow airport authorities also said they are working with police and the airline to understand how an unauthorised passenger boarded the incorrect aircraft.
