Christmas eve turned tragic for the family of a British pastor and his two children who drowned in a swimming pool at a hotel in Spain whilst on a holiday.
Gabriel Diya, 52, his daughter Comfort Diya, nine, and his son Praise-Emmanuel Diya, 16, were found unresponsive in the pool in Costa Del Sol hotel.
According to Daily Mail report, Diya and his 16-year-old son Praise Emmanuel are believed to have drowned after jumping in the water to save his daughter. It is alleged that they were sucked to their deaths after the girl's swim cap was found in the pool's suction pump.
The pastor's wife Olubunmi Diya, 49, and younger daughter Favour Diya, 14, were also on the holiday but were unharmed. They told investigators that none of their relatives could properly swim and only nine-year-old Comfort had 'some idea'.
However, while the exact cause of their deaths remain a mystery, autopsies performed confirmed that the father and his two children died by drowning.
