A driver had his car seized after he was caught speeding only because he did not want his fast food to get cold.
According to reports in Daily Mail, the driver was caught speeding and overtaking an unmarked police car on a single-track in Sheffield in South Yorkshire, England. When police nabbed him, the motorist claimed that he wanted to eat his fast food while it was still warm and hence ended up over-speeding.
Moreover, when police officials looked up for his details, they found that the driver was not insured either and so his VW Golf was seized. A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said, "It's been a positive night shift on the beat. This vehicle's driver decided to overtake our officers in an unmarked vehicle at excessive speeds, putting everyone's life at risk. All because he didn't want his fast food to go cold."
The spokesman added, "It just so happened this vehicle wasn't insured either. It's safe to say the driver wasn't "lovin it". Our version of a takeaway was arranged and the driver waved goodbye to his vehicle."
In a similar incident in February 2016, police had to chase down a driver speeding at 129mph after he picked up a burger in Ashington, Northumberland. When questioned over his reckless driving, the 32-year-old who was driving a modified Renault Clio told police he did not want his takeaway to get cold.
