Two students that drowned in the Massachusetts river after rescuing two small children have been identified.
Their names are Theeb Alyami of Hartford, Connecticut and Jaser Daham Alrakah of Springfield.
Alrakah, 25, was an engineering student at Western New England University. The 27-year-old Alyami was a civil engineering at the University of Hartford.
The Hampden District Attorney's office says Tuesday both students attended local colleges.
Police responded to the distress calls on Friday. The bodies of the two students were recovered on Friday and Monday.
Several adults who were nearby - Alyami and Alrakah among them - jumped into the water to help them.
The universities issued statements regarding their tragic deaths.
