Hundreds of social workers and volunteers are working round the clock, providing essentials to those affected by the unprecedented rainfall
YAS MARINA HAS has teamed up with local and international ecology groups to help save the critically endangered Hawksbill turtles.
The marina, in association with the Emirates Wildlife Society and the World Wildlife Fund (EWF-WWF), will adopt a turtle on behalf of each annual berth holder and 2012 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix berth holder.
It is also offering turtle adoption packs to anyone interested in the cause, with proceeds going to the Marine Turtle Conservation Project.
The three-year Marine Turtle Conservation Project, which was launched in 2010 by EWS-WWF, has successfully fitted 75 critically endangered Hawksbill turtles with satellite transmitters. These transmitters help the conservation team to track the post-nesting Hawksbill turtles on their migratory routes and pinpoint important feeding grounds, helping to fill data gaps in the region.
