With Ramadan tents popping up across the city, one of Downtown’s newest gems by Emaar offers an elegant space to enjoy Suhour in the shadow of the Burj Khalifa.

Located on Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, the ‘Downtown’ tent is a purpose built venue with a remarkable Arabic-style courtyard. Fountains dance softly as the sounds of an Oud musician plays throughout the dimly lit venue. Elegant modern décor with traditional motifs turn this tent into a stylish den of tranquility.

The food on offer is similar to what you might find on any menu across the city, from mezze to other Middle Eastern favourites like hummous and halloumi cheese. While the tent screams luxury try and lower your expectations when it comes to food, which often comes to the table tasting like it might have been prepared hours earlier. A happy exception might be the spicy chicken shawarma wrap - but in all fairness, it’s pretty tough to get this sandwich wrong in the first place.

Late into the night crowds continue to grow as groups sip on Turkish coffee and enjoy shisha, but as attentive as the staff try to be, there’s too much going on to expect good service.

A minimum spend is required depending on the size of the group, and while the food may be mediocre, Emaar’s ‘Downtown’ tent still provides an amazing venue to enjoy traditional music and ambience in the heart of Dubai’s most bustling district.
