As popular western music artists prepare to descend on Dubai, Arab stars are jostling for the limelight too.

As part of My Music X festival, Arabic performances by singers Ragheb Alama, Sandy and violinist Divanessa have been added to the line-up.

The artists are scheduled to perform on Friday at the Dubai International Marine Club, Mina Siyahi alongside Khodr Alama, the brother and manager of Ragheb, who will speak at a panel discussion about music fusion the night before.

Boasting over three decades in the musical industry, Ragheb Alama, the legendary Lebanese singer, composer and judge on the MBC show Arab Idol will perform his most popular songs such as Ya Rait (I Wish), Alby Asheq’ha (My Heart Adores Her), and Naseeni el Dunya (Make Me Forget the World).

Alama will be supported on the night with performances by Sandy, a young Egyptian pop star who rose to fame with the hit song Kol Ma Arrab. It’s not Sandy’s first time to Dubai, as her hit Hassal Khier from her album Kad Eltahady was shot here and reached millions of fans in the Arab world.

Along with the two singers, Divanessa will be on stage to amaze the audience with her violin performance. The Lebanese violinist started playing at the age of nine years old.

In the afternoon, My Music X will host a performance by Emirati hip-hop duo Desert Heat and Bahraini R&B singer Tiny.
