James Webb, who holds the world record of consuming 276 chicken wings in less than 12 minutes, on what it takes to be a 'professional eater' and why Dubai is the ideal place for food challenges
With the blended festival just around the corner, organisers have added English-Irish performer Maverick Sabre to the bill.
The 23-year-old will hit the stage at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on Friday, May 2 - sharing a bill with legendary singer-songwriter Elvis Costello and Costello’s wife, jazz pianist Diana Krall.
The previous day will see a line-up comprising R&B star Aloe Blacc, whose single The Man topped the U.K. charts earlier this month, as well as soul diva Joss Stone and Australian multi-instrumentalist Xavier Rudd.
Maverick Sabre, born Michael Stafford, released his debut album Lonely Are the Brave in 2012. The record, which was acclaimed for its social conscience, included the top 20 singles I Need and Let Me Go.
This will be Sabre’s first Middle East show, having played everywhere from Glastonbury in England to the South by Southwest festival in Texas.
Tickets, which begin at Dhs350, are on sale at Virgin Megastores and online at www.blended.ae.
