‘THE WALK’ IN Jumeirah Beach Residence is joining in the ‘Eid in Dubai’ celebrations with more than 40 shopping outlets open 24 hours a day this weekend and next.

Street performers including a troupe of chicken drummers will also roam the promenade.

Toasting a decade

MERCATO MALL’S 10th birthday coincides with the ‘Eid in Dubai’ festivities.

Until Monday, Italian-inspired performers and stage shows will entertain shoppers, while youngsters can also enjoy varied activities.

Also featured is a puppet show, a traditional folk dance known as the ‘Tarantella’ and drumming performances. Elsewhere, the first 10 children born on October 27 who show up at 10am on Mercato’s birthday that same day can win shopping vouchers from Fun City.

The spend-to-win promotion will see a raffle take place on Monday for 10 prizes worth Dhs10,000 each.

Going for a song

A GALAXY OF musical stars are coming to town to celebrate the festive season.

Enrique Iglesias performs tomorrow at the Dubai World Trade Centre, as Bollywood playback diva Shreya Ghoshal hits the Madinat Arena.

Saudi Arabian singer Rabih Saqer will perform at the Grand Habtoor Hotel on Saturday, followed the next day by Iraqi singer Majed Al Muhandis.

Lebanese star Melhem Zain will play the Intercontinental Festival City on Friday, followed the same day by compatriot Fares Karam (pictured) and Lebanese singer Nahwa.

Put your feet up

VISITORS TO DUBAI Festival City Mall are being treated to dates and Arabic coffee as part of the ongoing ‘Eid in Dubai’ celebrations.

Weary shoppers can also rest their legs in a hospitality area, while ‘Bokhoor’ perfume will waft around the mall to give it a special Emirati feel.
