What is it?

The Mercedes-Benz DETOUR 2012 - a unique driving competition, which tests your mental and physical fitness, navigation skills and teamwork. There are only one hundred teams allowed to participate and get a chance to win a 2013 Mercedes-Benz ML350. It is the first time in the UAE that a treasure hunt of this scale is being organised for the adult community.

How can you register?

There are four simple steps:

• Form a team of four (friends, family or co-workers – all aged above 21)

• Drive your own Mercedes-Benz or rent one for a discounted rate

• Register online - www.detouruae.com

• Pay at the same online address or at selected Fitness First centers

Can you participate if you don’t have a Mercedes-Benz?

Absolutely. If you don’t have a Mercedes-Benz, there’s no need to worry. Special rental rates will be available from Sixt rent-a-car. It will cost as little as Dhs50 per person to rent a Mercedes-Benz car for the day. There are different models available from saloons to SUVs.

What is the registration cost?

Registration starts at Dhs350 per person, including a brunch at the Dubai Sports City and entry into the brunch’s raffle draw. Contestants have to register as a team of four.

What can teams expect?

Gear up for a day full of fun, adventure, and thrills while cruising the UAE’s roads. No speeding is allowed. Teams get minus points for arriving at marshal stops ahead of time. Contestants will be rated on their best performance in physical activities, solving mental tasks and decoding the main clue.

What are the teams competing for?

Teams are competing for the main prize of a brand new 2013 Mercedes-Benz ML 350. The car’s retail value is Dhs238,000. By participating in this event teams will have a one in a hundred chance to win this luxury vehicle and many other exciting prizes.
