Movie Mania

Old School (2003)

Arguably Will Ferrell’s breakout movie, Old School is a laugh-heavy ode to immaturity – centering around three thirty-something friends who try to recapture their youth by starting a college fraternity.

After realising that they’re sick of the responsibility that comes with being an adult, Mitch (Wilson), Frank (Ferrell) and Bernard (Vaughn) go back to their hard-partying past lives at their old university.

Determined on stopping the trio from having fun is dorky former classmate and new dean of students Gordon Pritchard (Piven), as he tries his very best to get the new fraternity kicked off campus.

Starring: Luke Wilson, Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Jeremy Piven

Love Connection

The city of Angels is proving a difficult prospect for both our ‘Love Connection’ contenders this week – or at least for their characters.

Matt Leblanc recently returned for the fourth series of LA-based sitcom Episodes, in which he plays a twisted version of himself trying to keep one step ahead of Hollywood.

Alexandra Daddario meanwhile may soon transition into a household name thanks to her new disaster blockbuster San Andreas, in which Los Angeles endures a devastating earthquake.

Will the duo’s nightmares turn into California Dreamin’ together though?

Celeb Trivia

Bill Murray was born one of nine children in Chicago in 1950.

Murray would go on to become an international comedy icon, first appearing in sketch show Saturday Night Live and then going on to star in countless comedy films including Spaceballs, Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day and Lost in Translation (which earned him a Best Actor nomination).

Three of the funnyman’s brothers are also actors. Older sibling Brian Doyle-Murray had a short stint on SNL, and has credits in films including Wayne’s World and As Good As It Gets. He currently stars in sitcom The Middle.

John Murray, like Brian, has appeared in several of Bill’s movies such as Caddyshack and Scrooged, while younger brother Joel has an extensive CV including lengthy stints on Dharma & Greg, Mad Men and recently voiced a character in Pixar’s Monsters University. One of the boys’ sisters, Nancy, is a nun in Michigan.

Ever tried learning an instrument, only to give up soon after in a frustrated huff?

Then you may not want to watch this clip of eight-year-old Jay Lewington, who steps up to a piano at St. Pancras Station in London and rattles out Chopin’s Fantasie Impromptu. The youngster has been learning piano on YouTube for a year.
